Date Rape Drugs

Date rape drugs are put into a persons drink in order to stun them and make them lose control.
Typical symptoms are dizziness, tiredness, loss of control and a blackout. “I was roofied” is an umbrella term, referring to the previous in the 1980’s used drug, Rohypnol.
During 2000 the manufacturer reacted and made the pill green with a blue core, dissolving clumpy in drinks and added bitters.
Since then, Roofies don't play a role anymore.

37% experienced drink spiking multiple times. Most places to experience drink spiking is a house party (49%), at a bar (30%) and in a Club, (10%), on a date (7%), at a music festival or concert (4%).

Over half of these spiking situations took place in college, 19% in high school. The police also regularly warns of drink spiking assaults, cases are increasing nationwide – especially the usage of GHB is rising.

Since 2010, the drug GHB became the most popular date rape drug.
GHB has no taste, no color and cannot be detected in drink. It’s the major drug used to spike people.
GHB feels like “getting super drunk” – then you lose control and blackout.
Because of its stimulating effects, it´s a mainstream party drug at raves, festivals, house parties and on dates.
Some users even replace alcohol by GHB as it has a similar effect, is cheaper and doesn’t cause a headache the next day.
